Welcome to First United Methodist Church of Ansonia's Website!

We are a community of faith committed to lifelong faith formation, vibrant worship, servant discipleship, strengthening our spiritual growth and a just and generous outreach to the poor and broken. We are a church that has been blessed with a history and tradition of outstanding church member commitment, investment and involvement.

We realize that people look for churches for many reasons. Whether you are looking to worship with us, grow more deeply in your Christian commitment, to raise your families in the vision of the Gospel of Jesus and his church, receive support and/or to get involved, know that you are welcome and will find a home here.

Here on our parish website you will find easily laid out, the elements of our faith community that we hope will lead you to a deeper relationship with God, engage you in a greater sense of community with others and inspire you to wider service to our sisters and brothers. Through this website, we strive to give you a sense of the experience you will have in person. As you browse, you will find out about a church of loving people who energetically serve Christ.

We pray that Christ opens some doors for your consideration. Experience shows that when people begin to visit and participate in a church, two blessings occur:

• the existing congregation is blessed in its mission by the presence of new ideas, talents and energies;

• the people new to the church are blessed with new friends in a supportive community striving toward the common goal of making a difference in people's lives for Christ and his world.

Whether exploring as a visitor or as a long time member, seeking to grow more deeply in your faith and or to share the love of God with others by getting more involved, I think that you will find much to encourage you in our shared Christian vocation in bringing Christ’s love and hope to the world.

If you are hungry for hope, grace, or renewal; looking for a spiritual home; searching for a community in service after the teaching and example of Christ; or simply seeking answers to questions; know that there is a place for you here. Please consider joining us.

Thank you for taking a moment to visit us here. We look forward to meeting you in person! Should you have any questions, please feel free to call me at 203-240-4110 or drop me a note at pastorjim@ansoniaumc.org.

Wishing You God’s Choicest Blessings,

Rev. James J. Midgley
